Term Definition
Central Nervous System The division of the nervous system consisting of the brain and the spinal cord.
Peripheral Nervous System The division of the nervous system consisting of all nerves located outside the central nervous syetem
Brain The part of the nervous system that controls most functions on the bods
Somatic Nervous System The group of nerves in the peripheral nervous system that controls voluntary actions .
Automatic Nervous System The group of nerves in the peripheral nervous system involuntary actions.
Concussion is a bruise like injury of the brain
Brain Stem The part of the brain that lies between the cerebellum and the spinal cord, controls the body's involuntary actions
Spinal Cord The thick column of nerve tissue that links the brain to most of the peripheral nervous system
